Scratchy Throat? Could Snoring be the Blame?

Many people suffer from a sore or scratchy throat on occasion. This can occur for a number reasons, especially if you have a cold or allergies. Though it creates some discomfort, it tends to pass fairly quickly.

A lingering sore throat probably has a different cause. A lot of times, people who suffer from a chronic sore throat just become used to it.

It is common for those who have sore throats almost daily will wake with the condition. Although the ailment seems minor enough, experiencing a sore throat this often may indicate that something “not quite right is going on.

To clarify, a sore throat with accompanying symptoms such as fevers, breathing problems, rashes or others merit seeking medical attention quickly.

In the absense of additional symptoms though means that the cause could be snoring or sleep apnea.

It is possible not to realize we are even snoring unless there is someone being disturbed by the sound.

Why a person snores is dependent upon several factors. A person’s tongue may be fallilng back into the thoat during sleep. This can block air passage. A person may have narrow nasal passages. Others have narrow jaws or the muscles supporting it may be tense which can also contribute to a narrow breathing passage.

A logical question may then be, “If no one around me is losing sleep and I don’t even know it’s happening, why bother fixing it?”

Lessened air flow reduces the oxygen flow to your body. Headaches can result and you are being robbed of the rest you need. Lowered energy through the day then occurs.

Another more serious problem that may accompany snoring is sleep apnea. In this case, the person discontinues to breathe throughout the night. Sleep studies should be conducted in order to diagnose this issue.

Sleep apnea can actually shorten a person’s life as it can lead to hypertension and of course the subsequent problems such as stroke or heart attack.

Taking all of that into consideration, suffering from a sore throat regularly likely merits further investigation.

Discontinuing snoring and apnea can turn a person’s life around. Alleviating the sore throat is great, but improving one’s level of energy and memory from a good night’s sleep is fantastic.

If you suffer from snoring or even mild sleep apnea, I strongly recommend my Stop Snoring Exercise Program. It addresses the root of the problem and is completely natural.
